Cricket Talk #2 with Raj Aryan ft. Divyansh Khandewal

Cricket Talk #2
Guest : Divyansh Khandewal

Raj : First of all thanks for your participation in this Interview Divyansh.

Divyansh : Well, Thanks to you Raj for giving me this opportunity to share my thoughts and views on cricket.

Raj : Ok, So let's start.

Divyansh : Yeah

Raj : My first question to you is - "What made you a cricket fan  ?"

Divyansh : My dad and sisters always used to watch Cricket, I wasn't tbh but I knew India had won 2011 WC and I wanted them to win in 2015 as well. Their performance till SF in that WC made me realise how enjoyable and intersting this game is and then the IPL and then Cricket became part of my life.

Raj : Ok, Now tell me being a RCB Fan, what's your favorite IPL memory  ?

Divyansh : Well I equally support both RCB and MI. So for RCB, my favorite memory is from 2016 Qualifier 1 when AB De Villiers just single handedly took us to the finals, that was very emotional moment for me. And for MI, that 2017 Final was not just the favorite memory but the BEST t20 game I ever seen, I was getting goosebumps even after turning off the TV at 1.15 PM.

Raj : Ok, Now My next question is - "Which Indian youngster impressed you most in the IND vs AUS test series and why  ?"

Divyansh : T Natrajan impressed me the most in this series, we talk a lot about from where he came from, he used to play with tennis ball, replacement player but the way he bowled in this series is just phenomenon, you see Jasprit Bumrah didn't play in T20 but we never miss him.
He did what Bumrah used to do and easy as you like.

Raj : You're right Divyansh, Natarjan is a really a gem and the discovery of IND vs Australia tour. "Now I want to know about your view on the 'Split Captaincy'  ?"

Divyansh : In my opinion, the question regarding split captaincy is not that whether Virat Kohli is bad captain in limited overs, the question is that who is better captain for limited over format and acc. to me, Rohit Sharma is 10 times better captain than Virat Kohli in limited over format. And as Gautam Gambhir also said that if Rohit don't become the captain, it'll be Team India's loss not Rohit's.

Raj : "Some words on Indian Captain Virat Kohli (or what is Virat Kohli for you) ?"

Divyansh : Virat Kohli to me is the best example of hard work and determination. The way he bats is just phenomenon.
I mean 12k ODI runs in 242 innings, 973 runs in one IPL season, 7 double hundreds in test cricket, these records says is all there're many more records like that. He's the greatest batsman of all time in all 3 formats by a distance. And I'd be disappointed if he makes less than 125 hundreds before his retirement.

Raj : Well Divyansh, Virat has got a correct name from his parents that is 'Virat'. We're very fortune to have this legend in our team. Now My next question to you is - "Is IPL boon or a bane and also justify your answer  ? "

Divyansh : To me, IPL is definitely a boon. That spectators enjoyment and revenue is a different thing but so many rockstar players like KL Rahul, Bumrah, Hardik, Shreyas, Pant etc IPL has given us. And the most important thing from is that it is so so competative and full of pressure that it makes youngster ready for International Cricket a lot more earlier. The only bad thing in IPL is that idiotic fanwar that I don't really take seriously.

Raj : Now, Some words on the legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni  ?

Divyansh : Well, some words would never be enough to describe MS's greatness tbh.
For me, he is my idol, my inspiration, my all time favorite sportsman along with AB. The Greatest captain the world has ever seen. One of the most destructive batsman who can even score test 200 with tailenders by hitting sixes all over. One who can do everything for team's interest. And such a great great human being.

Raj : You're right Divyansh, Words fell short to describe MSD's greatness and his contribution to Indian Cricket. Indians are very lucky that this Captain of captains is born in our soil. Now My last question to you is - "What is the positive impact of this sport in your life? "

Divyansh : Positive impact of Cricket on my life, well I have my life idols from this sport, AB and MS. If I compare Divyansh of 2014 and Divyansh of 2021, there is very much difference, I became more calm, more cool, more polite, more determined and almost 70% of it came from what I learnt from MS, AB, Kane, Smith, Virat, Rohit, Rahul etc.

Raj : OK, Now let's conclude with telling me about your 'All Time - India Test XI'?

Divyansh : My All time Test 11 of India
